« Thread started on: Aug 4th, 2015, 11:20pm »

Today just had to be the day fate changed for the better.

There is a large cage with fake tall rocks and a large tree. In this tree was a 35 foot long Rock Python by the name of Atlas. He rested his dark brown and black diamond shaped coils on the branches as he stared lazily at the metal bars that separated him from the outside. There's was no one to help him escape, no entertainment, and no food. All this time ever since he was sent here, he waited for the right time to break free. Well, tonight would be that night.

For now, he waited for the right time. Waiting... to finally get out of this place.

Atlas wasn't the only bored one, there was a lone security guard on duty this night by the name of Anne.

She was in her midtwenties, had a slim, athletic build, from hours of forking out, and was wearing a standard security guard uniform, a blue shirt, black pants, and a blue cap vague remnicient of a police hat.

Today was just another day on her boring job, or so she thought... As she passed by the back doors to the enclosures, she noted on of the gates was left unlocked. She hated her job, and almost wanted to get fired some days... So she didn't think twice about walking up to the gate and pushing it open with a loud *creeeak!*

"Ehh, whatever, zoo snakes are like, super lazy anyways, I'm not in any danger," she mumbled aloud as she stepped into the false forest.

Oh how wrong she would be.

Atlas, noticing the gate to his cell creaking open, quickly slid down the tree and hid his body amoungst the fake rocks, eyeing on the supposed intruder to his lair.

All Anne carried was a small, wooden baton, and a large flashlight, "man, this place is super creepy with the lights off..." She murmured, looking around for the snake, "come on snakey snakey snakey! Stop being Lazy and show yourself!" She said, as if beckoning a dog to play, clearly not respecting the danger this snake truly was.

The snake, being annoyed with being called to like a dog, slowly slithered up right behind her and hissed slowly.

She whirled around in surprise, "woah buddy, you scared the crap out of me! Didn't expect you to be awake!" She said with a nervous smile shindig. Her light over his body, revealing just how large he was.

His large body was indeed viewable as he hissed at her before looking around at her, as if inspecting ever portion of her body. His tail then moved about and tried to rub and check some of her pockets, as if he was a bit curious about her... not that he forgot her rudeness nor his plans for her.

"Ugh, stop that! There's nothing in there for you!" She said angrily, swatting his gain away and taking a step back.

Atlas took his tail out and hissed angrily at her. He then bared his curved teeth as a warning.

"You know, you should show more respect for a snake that just wanted to get to know you."

She dragged back a few steps in shock, almost dropping her flashlight, "w-wait... You can... Talk?!" She asked in utter shock,

Atlas sighed heavily, calming himself down somewhat as he nodded.

"Yes human, I can. Being stuck i this place for several years can do that to you. But tell me, what brings you here like this?"

He gave her a look that once again showed curiosity.

"I... Well, I was bored, and someone left the gate unlocked, and I decided to check this place out," she explained simply, unsure of what to make of this strange serpent.

He made a slight chuckle at this.

"So i see. But where are my manners? My name is Atlas, and I hope we can start over from that little incident earlier."

He gave his best innocent smile as he held up his tail for her to shake.

"I'm Anne.... Sorry I was treating you like a dog earlier...." She said, taking his tail and shaking it.

He chuckled at this.

"It's quite alright. It wouldn't be the first time I was called to like that, besides one from a lousy brat that breathes on the bars."

He then placed a coil on her shoulders gently and started to rub.

"You know, judging by the way you acted, I could say that you don't like being a night guard do you?"
