Seventeen year old Melany Lancaster sat next to the window in the little twelfth grade classroom, waiting for the bell to ring.
Senior year was drawing to a close, and with the final day would come graduation. It was rapidly approaching now, with only a few short months left.
Melany's grades had not once dropped below straight A's throughout all of high school, and she planned to keep it that way; with final exams coming up, she was going to study as much as she could, even if it meant losing sleep. She wasn't about to fail now.
As the bell rang and Melany was gathering her things into her bag, she glanced over at her classmates. While she wasn't really acquainted with most of them, she still hoped they'd all do well on the upcoming exams.
On the bus ride home, Melany stared out the window, sitting alone. Nobody ever sat with her, so she was used to this by now...
